Greetings everyone, I just finished watching the Square Enix press conference and wanted to provide you with information about what was in it along with my opinions of it. Attached is the entire live stream, in case you would like to watch it yourself. I think the actual footage starts around the 30 min mark.

Up first there was a short intro by Matsuda from Square Enix. Following that there is a game play trailer for Shadow of the Tomb Raider showcasing stealth type game play that immediately made me think of Metal Gear Solid and Assassins Creed. Shadow of the Tomb Raider releases September 2018

Next we had some clips from the recently release patch 4.3 of Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood.

Then from the creators of Life is Strange comes is similar game called The Awesome adventure of Captain Spirit. In this game you seem to be a child pretending to be a superhero. The creator says this game is not Life is Strange II, but plays pretty similarly.

Following that we get a release trailer for Dragon Quest XI: Echos of an Elusive Age. This game is set for pre-order 14 August 2018 for PS4 and Steam. No mention of the 3DS version or a possible Switch Version.

Then they showed a release trailer for a game called Babylon’s Fall from Platinum games, the same people that did Neir: Automata and Bayonetta The release trailer covers several thousands years of this games backstory then we see a heavily armored knight cutting another knight in half. I am very curious to hear more about this game. My first impression is that it will be rather Dark Souls-y

Octopath Traveler is set to release 13 July 2018 on the Switch

A trailer for Just Cause 4 was shown, and they talked about the added Weather, vehicles, grapple tethers, improved AI, and sandbox nature of the game.

A Live action trailer was shown for a new game called The Quiet Man, which seems to involve a man that either can not hear, or has the ability to make it so other people can not hear. In the trailer he picks a fight with some thugs, before it switches to the game graphics, where the Quiet Man beats up the thugs.

The press conference closes on Kingdom Hearts 3. This new trailer shows clips from Frozen, Ratatouille, Tangled, Monsters Inc, Hercules, Toy Story, a new song from Utada Hikaru and a potentially evil Aqua. Oh yeah and the release date is 29 Jan 2019.

That was quiet a haul. It was a little dissapointing that there was no new information about Final Fantasy VII:Remake, but there is always the TGS later this year.
